Researchers at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), in collaboration with researchers from the University of the Ryukyus and the University of Electro-Communications, have discovered that soil pH is a key factor in regulating the symbiotic relationship between pests and soil bacteria.
