For anyone that has left their Christmas shopping to the very last-minute, Amazon is a godsend – with next-day delivery available with Prime and it’s even possible for orders placed on Christmas Eve to arrive the very same day. But if you’re thinking of placing an order within the next few days, then Amazon has a warning for you. The retailer has told customers that the busy festive period could lead to certain deliveries taking longer than usual.

Amazon UK explained: “During this busy period, some deliveries may take slightly longer than usual. As always, please see your up-to-date delivery date at checkout, which provides our most accurate estimate of the delivery date.

“You can track the progress of your order at any time by visiting Your Orders in Your Account.”

Technically speaking, using Amazon’s delivery guidelines Prime orders that have to arrive in time for Christmas can be placed on December 23, while if you’re ordering in an area that supports Same Day delivery and are looking to buy an eligible product then you would be able to place an order on Christmas Eve morning and get it by 10pm that day.

But Express.co.uk has seen ourselves while browsing through Amazon a few products items which are eligible for Prime delivery and should be delivered the next day are instead listed as having a guaranteed delivery two days later.

This is by no means the norm of course, and we only saw this on a handful of products where this was the case.

But to avoid yourself getting caught out it’s best to place your Christmas orders from Amazon sooner rather than later.

Thankfully though, Amazon has a helpful guide on its website which will let you know whether an item you’re thinking of ordering will arrive before Christmas.

On a product page on the right-hand side of the screen, underneath the price information, you should see ‘Arrives before Christmas’ highlighted in green if this item can be delivered before December 25.

If you’re struggling to think of what to buy someone for Christmas, then Amazon UK currently has slashed the prices of some of its most popular products.

As part of its Last Minute Christmas Deals promotion – which runs until December 23 – you’ll be able to get a Fire TV Stick Lite for just £14.99, which is a half-price reduction on its usual price tag.

The Fire 7 tablet has also had its price cut £49.99 to £29.99, and you won’t be able to find a tablet computer at a cheaper price than that.

Amazon has also cut the prices of its latest Echo Dot and Echo smart speakers, as well offering the veteran Echo Dot 3rd gen smart speaker at a bargain price of just £17.
