Chromia Brings Relational Blockchain Technology to the Forefront with Mainnet Launch
Chromia launches MVP mainnet, marking a new era in the decentralized application field with its relational blockchain technology.
Layer 1 blockchain Chromia has launched its long-awaited MVP mainnet, becoming the first relational blockchain to go live. The latest move is a significant step in redefining how data is structured and managed on-chain while enhancing effectiveness in complex data calculation. The mainnet launch also introduces the native CHR token and establishes the foundation of the Chromia network, setting the stage for ecosystem growth.
Going live will also set the stage for the migration of ERC-20 and BEP-20 CHR tokens into the main chain. This will allow the usage of the native CHR tokens across the blockchain, providing a mode of payment for network hosting fees, provider payouts and other services across Chromia’s infrastructure.
The development of Chromia started in 2012 with the team toiling for the better part of the decade on its blockchain solution. With the MVP mainnet launch now a success, Henrik Hjelte, Chromia’s co-founder, believes the platform is ready to change the Web 3 universe.
“After years of development, we are thrilled to see the concept of relational blockchain become a reality,” he added. “The MVP Mainnet represents a significant step forward in realizing our vision.”
Restructuring blockchain data using Chromia
As alluded to, the introduction of relational blockchain technology marks a significant step in the blockchain realm – especially in data. The technology redefines how data is structured and managed on-chain, making complex searches and calculations more efficient. This innovation eliminates the need for third-party indexing services and data availability layers, improving overall efficiency and usability.
Notwithstanding, Chromia’s relational blockchain also introduces a new brand of economics on its blockchain. Developers and builders on the blockchain will be able to lease resource containers and design revenue streams within their DApps, allowing users to enjoy a ‘gas-free’ user experience. As such, new DeFi apps can be created from these new models, easing the costs for users.
Speaking on the launch of Chromia’s mainnet, Alex Mizrahi, co-founder of Chromia, stated:
“Chromia combines blockchain architecture with ideas from cloud computing and database theory to provide a full spectrum of tools needed to deliver an amazing end-user experience. This launch sets the stage for the future growth and development of our network, and I’m excited to see what developers can create with our technology.”
Focusing on Future User Growth And Adoption
The launch of Chromia mainnet is expected to welcome builders to the platform, with more DApps expected in the coming weeks. Additionally, as DApps deploy on the blockchain, network activity and user adoption rates are anticipated to soar. The network will be dynamically expanded with more DApp clusters as demand increases, providing a scalable and flexible infrastructure for future growth.
The platform has already welcomed several DApps, mainly gaming projects such as My Neighbor Alice and DAR Open Network, Chain of Alliance and Cloudborn, digital collectable platforms (Fanzeal), DeFi projects, and NFT marketplaces.
Moreover, ChromaWay, a platform leveraging Chromia’s relational blockchain, recently strengthened its collaboration with the European Union, joining the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) project, to create sustainable solutions for enterprises across the EU.
Chromia also announced it will implement its native staking service for CHR holders, improve its bridging service, and enhance the functionality and performance of the platform.
